RICHARD PETER PURSER

25.9.1942 - 12.4.2008.
This page is dedicated to my husband of over 40 years, who died peacefully at home in Spain following a long illness.

Here are just a few memories of the Richard we knew:

Award Winning Saleman Richard. 1970's
Combined Insurance Company of America

Swan Hotel, Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Giving demonstration of Sales talk & technique with audience of over 800 -in front of his boss

Chicago Multi-Millionnaire Philanthropist W. Clement Stone.
Probably the most inspirational speaker of all time and the writer of many books on what he named
PMA - Positive Mental Attitude. Mr. Stone's words enabled many others to change their lives for the better.
Mr. Stone died in 2002 aged 100, and the whole state of Illinois declared a day of mourning.

Celebrating another CICA world record with his Top Team of Salesmen

clockwise from bottom left:
Peter; John; Malcolm; Bob; Eddie; Richard; Dennis; Jim; Alan; Jack; Alan.

This team broke many sales records throughout the world, but they also had lots of fun!

Presentation to Richard on leaving CICA in UK to move to the USA. (circa 1980)
Left to Right: Joe; Bob; Stan (with his eye on the trophy!) Richard; Kathy; Chris; Colin; Jim; Roy.

(Still in touch with Joe,who was Richard's invaluable office Manager at the Bradford Office.)

Richard specialised in Franchising during the 1990's. Expanding companies from scratch - for others and himself. Shown here at a window film company called Saledata, and all the outlets he secured for the company in the UK. Always the salesman, his forte was in hiring the best individuals. He was a great judge of character, and often made successes of the most unlikely candidates!

Finally, probably my favourite family photo. Taken in the 1980's outside our home of 23 years in Southport.
Jessica is our only child, and Richard spent all his spare time - what there was of it - with her and myself
when at home. His dream was to move to Spain and continue with the business he was planning, but the illness cruelly put paid to that
.
Richard was cremated in Antequera on Sunday,13th April, 2008, and we shall travel to Cyprus probably on his birthday to scatter his ashes at Salamis Bay, which was his most favourite place in the world, where he used to scuba dive when in the RAF.

Kathy.
